. Doors behind the staircase lead to the library, conneting to the billiards room and Lord Rotherham's study. The rest of the ground floor consists of a billiards room, Lord Rotherham's study and the library, where Robert Fitzgerald currently spends most of his time as a convalescent.

On the first floor, a large hallway, lit partly from the dome at the top of the staircase, contains a staircase to the upper floor and a picture gallery. At the back of the house is a large, ornately decorated gallery usually divided into two by means of screens, containing what is known as the gilded drawing room (used for formal visits and dinner parties) and the music room, containing the pianoforte and Viola Fitzgerald's harp, when she is in residence. Also on the first floor is a pretty drawing room at the front of the house where Madeleine Fitzgerald spends her mornings and receives calls as well as the dining room.

On the second floor are Lord and Lady Rotherham's bedrooms, connected through their dressing rooms, at the back of the house, as well as three other bedrooms to be used for children or other guests. The floor is mainly lit by the dome at the top of the grand staircase, which has a narrow terrace running round it.
