Pamela Longstaffe is the youngest, prettiest and silliest of the Longstaffes of Stavelow Manor in Cheshire. Indulged from a young age she has grown up spoilt and wilful. When her aunt Lady Crumpshaw left her £1000, her father decided to give her a chance at making a decent match by arranging for her to have a season in London, accompanied by her elder sister, Hermione.
