Background

Being born the youngest child, not to mention only daughter, of the Duke and Duchess of Elsings had advantages. First of all, being female she would never have to worry about the responsibility that came with inheriting a dukedom. Secondly, her mother and father adored her, doting upon her whenever they could and spoiling her rotten. As a child, whatever she wanted she got and though it would make sense that a lot of the attention was on her oldest brother, John, she certainly stole the limelight in most situations. Being adored made her crave attention, and craving attention gave her adoration.

She was given a governess to provide her education, but didn't do very well with her studies. Her attention tended to wander and daydream, and so things like arithmetic, languages, and history never really meshed well with her. She did however have artistic ability, and a flair for drawing. Many praise her singing voice as beautiful.

This year Mia has come to London with her parents and brother, as they do every year for the London season, and she is debuting. Her mother is determined to show her off and dress her in pretty things. Mia does not object.
