Sir Simon Freye was born in 1757 to Sir James and Lady Dorothea Freye. He is the brother of Dorothy Greystone and Madeleine, Lady Rotherham. In 1782 he married Miss Anna Morrison and they have three children: Julian, Henrietta and Gregory. Sir Simon was a petulant and sickly child and grew up rather dissolute, a trait his sons have shared.
