Sir Roland Taylor is a cheerful, optimistic young man who managed to catch the heart and hand of pretty Lady Priscilla Tanaquil whom he married in 1805 after a brief courtship. Their son Harry was born in 1806. Priscilla's best friend, Lady Viola Fitzgerald was named Godmother. Sadly, Priscilla died in childbirth in 1807. The baby, a girl, also did not survive. Inconsolable after the loss of his wife, Roland has subsequently lived in seclusion at his estate in Hertfordshire where he has brought up his son with his mother's help.
