Maeve is Yves Armistead's adoring, adored maid and confidante. His petal, his treasure and his champion, there is nothing Maeve doesn't know about her master and nothing she wouldn't do for him. As thick as thieves and close as sisters, Maeve and Yves met in 1807 when Sabine ran off with Maeve's newly-purchased ham in Covent Garden. Though she feared that she would lose her position in a noble house that will remain unnamed, Maeve instead found herself poached into the service of the playwright where she has remained ever since.

Born in Greenwich in 1790, Maeve and Rhys Pryce, Yves' valet, are quietly enjoying their own low-key romance.
