James Reynell, a distant cousin of the first husband of Demelza Quartermaine, has been Baron Thornley since 1781. He is married to Anne, the elder sister of James Vickery, Lord Saltash and he and his wife have three children: Christopher (known as Kit), Lucinda and Jonathan, known to friends and family as Jonty.
