The Earldom Parry is a recently created title awarded to the late Henry Layton, Baron Loseley for services to the state.
History
This Earldom doesn't really have any history so far! The first Earl's activities in France which led to the gift of the title are strictly classified. Despite the Layton family's accession in rank from ancient Barony to flashy new Earldom, they chose to keep Loseley Park as their family seat and neither of the two Earls so far have made Theddingworth Park their principle home.
List of Earls Parry (1791)
- Henry Layton, 1st Earl Parry, n-1th Baron of Loseley (1749-1805)
- Henry Layton, 2cd Earl Parry, nth Baron of Loseley, heir apparent to Marquessate of Crantock (1783-)
- The heir apparent is Nicholas, Duke of Leighton, the first Earl's nephew.
