History

The Earldom of Prestwood was created in 1692 by William III, in recognition of political services to the Crown by Robert Beacham. The seat of the Earls of Prestwood became Beacham Hall, in Sussex.

The current title holder is Arthur Beacham, 4th Earl of Prestwood. The heir apparent is his son, Lord Elliot Beacham.
