George Grenfell (b 1756, d 1805), not to be confused with his son, George Grey Grenfell, was the 16th Baron de Grave.
He and his wife, Caroline, produced four children: the sensible heir George Grey Grenfell, the restless adventurer Leander Grenfell, the younger son Piers Grenfell and sole daughter Sybilla Grenfell.
The Grenfell men are known to suffer from weak chests and hearts.
