Andrew Astor was the 18th Earl of Hopetoun and husband of Elizabeth Astor.
He is the late father of Camilla Fairmont and Anthea Winter, each of whom had a very significant dowry. As Andrew Astor had no sons, upon his death, the Earldom passed to a distant cousin. He is the maternal grandfather of played characters Rosalind Fairmont, Jemima Fairmont, Marcus Fairmont and Katherine Winter.
