George Hackett is the current Earl of Morven. He was born in 1750 and married Elinor Gosling in 1779 with whom he had three children: Augusta, Duchess of Leicester, Eliza, Lady Comfield and George, Lord Selwyn. Lady Morven died in 1789, a blow from which the Earl never really recovered. He became something of a recluse in Morven Castle, dedicating his life to the advancement of his children's prospects - from a distance.
He was a cold and domineering father and remains so, even though he is now very ill and leaves the running of his affairs to his son, whose long stay in Italy disappointed him, and his steward.
George is a NPC belonging to Rose and should not be confused with his son, also called George.
