The Viscountcy of Selwyn is a hereditary title in the Peerage of Great Britain. The first holder of the title was Mr. George Selwyn.

History

The title of Viscount Selwyn was awarded to Mr. George Selwyn of Sedley Park in Dorset in 1712. However, since the first Lord Selwyn he failed to produce any sons, the title almost immediately passed to the Hackett family, when his only daughter, Miss Georgiana Selwyn, married the 5th Earl of Morven in 1721.
