Background
Joanna Katherine Warren was born on April the first, 1794, a bit of a cosmic joke really, on her behalf. Even before she was two weeks old, anyone who had seen the baby could tell right off that she was certainly the most like her mother - not only in her appearance, but also in her demeanor. Unlike many new-borns, she was actually rather quiet most of the time. She slept through the night (most of the time), and didn't cry all that much, at least not of her own accord. But of course with two older brothers around at the time, she would cried loudly when she was provoked by either one of them.
When she was two years old, though she really wasn't old enough to remember, her younger sister Prudence was born. She had heard that she had caused a ruckuss that day with her brothers: She wouldn't stop crying, Cedric and Sebastian were running around the house like billy-o, her mother was in labour, and her father was simply freaking out over it all.
Joanna was always an imaginative child. Even growing up, she claimed that the fairytales she heard repetitively were true. Christiana seemed thrilled by this, and somewhat encouraged her daughters, er, enthusiastic imagination. Her father slightly disapproved of this, but he really couldn't, or wouldn't, rather, comment. Her older brothers often times teased her about this, but, an opinionated little child, she held her beliefs on that. All in all, teasing though they may have been, Joanna was just about as close to her brothers as any brother-sister relationship could get.
Cedric was great, but he teased her most often, and usually somewhat in a more harsh way than Sebastian's playful way of doing so. Sebastian was the one she was closer to out of her two brothers. She loved him very much, and you could simply imagine her feelings of when she was 5 years old, and he was six, and he lost most of the use of his right leg - he couldn't play with her as much any more, and that hurt her so, but when he was in bed, she would sit with him and tell him the fairy tales that her mother used to tell her. He learned to love them just as much as she did, but the next year, he died from the influenza. For the next three years after that, Joanna spoke to no one: she absolutely refused to do so.
Just when she had started to speak again, that very year her mother had another child; another girl named Enid. Her mother died in childbirth that year, and though once more Joanna was very sad, she realized that she was the oldest girl, and possibly the closest family member her baby sister would have - she continued to speak, but limitedly. All in all, not that much has truly happened in our girl's life time, and here she is today, just sort of mulling her life around a bit, and, as her brother put it none to kindly, 'just waiting for something to happen'.
