A shop located at 7-8 Berkeley Square[1] offering refreshments, particularly ices & sorbets, that is a great favorite among the Haut Ton.
It was originally established as the Pot and Pineapple in 1765, but in 1811 it is known as Gunter's after the current proprietor. While it is famed for its ices, Gunter's also specialises in confectionery and sugar sculptures. It is not unknown for private parties to have as a centrepiece a sugar sculpture or other confection sent in from Gunter's.
