Theresa is the second daughter of Sir Silvanus Ruthyn. She is married to Ernest Arrington, the [Earldom of Gloucester|[Earl of Gloucester]], and she has a daughter, Laura, by Thomas Sterne. Therese and Thomas met in 1803, when the latter was attending the University of Oxford, and since then they have been in an on and off relationship, the climax of which was when they decided to elope but resolved not to before boarding a ship to Calais.
She is a free-spirited and extremely capricious woman with a taste for the unconventional and deviant pleasures of life, and since she doesn’t exactly try to conceal her temperament or leanings she is seldom welcome in the politer circles of society (not that this stops her from attending). She is currently mourning her mother.
