Julia, Duchess of Pennington was born Miss Julia Dancy in 1787 to a wealthy baronet. She made her debut in 1805 and became a rival in beauty and popularity to Lady Viola Fitzgerald. She accepted a proposal of marriage from the Duke of Pennington in her first season only weeks after he had been rejected by Lady Viola herself. Despite her advantageous marriage, she is not happy. She is worried about the fact she has not yet given her husband an heir and she still feels jealous and over-shadowed by Lady Viola.
In the 1811 season she has taken to sponsoring a young poet, Evander Whinging.
Julia is played by Lidell.
