Sterne Castle

Sterne Castle was the main residence of the Barons Sterne, before the ascend of the ? Baron Sterne to the Earldom of Essex.

The 7th Earl of Essex, Henry Sterne, was particularly fond of the castle and used it as his favourite retreat, as well as a place to hold as many hedonistic parties as desired; thus, ensuring that it was maintained in a good condition, after having spent a great deal of money on renovating and repairing it. At the moment, however, due to the near bankruptcy of the family and the Dowager Countess' dislike of the castle, it has been left for ruins.
