The fifth Almacks ball of the season marked the arrival of the Countess of Winchcombe and will be remembered as the time an unfortunate Miss Gisbon spilled lemonade Her Grace, the Duchess of Pennington and the backdrop for a polite but hostile stand-off between that lady and Lady Viola.
