Locksley Park

  • Locksley Park is the ancestral home and seat of the Ellery family, located in Kentmere, Westmorland. It was built in the late 12th century, and was then known as Ellery House; it was rechristened Locksley Park in the late 17th century following the creation of the Barony of Locksley, expansion of the building, and the acquisition of additional property. It underwent significant remodeling and restoration in the 1740s, overseen by Jane Ellery, Lady Locksley. The property abuts the River Lune, and a small cottage exists beside the river, which has been the periodic residence of various artists and extended family members over the years, especially those requiring recuperation. Following the death of her husband, the Dowager Baroness Locksley showed no intention of removing from the house, and continues to live in the house proper when the family is not in the city for the season. Despite her daughter-in-law being the official mistress of the house, the Dowager Baroness is still deferred to for most household decisions by her son and by the staff. Locksley Park is depicted by Moresby Hall.
  • Current residents of Locksley Park include:
    • Philip Ellery, Baron Locksley
    • Patience Ellery, Baroness Locksley
    • Jane Ellery, Dowager Baroness Locksley
    • the Honorable Honora Ellery
    • the Honorable Grace Ellery
    • the Honorable Mathias Ellery II
    • Miss Hillman

Locksley Lodge

  • Locksley Lodge is a country home located in Kirkby Lonsdale, Westmorland, belonging to the Ellery family. It was purchased by Thomas Ellery, 2nd Baron Locksley in 1712. Like Locksley Park, the property is directly adjacent to the River Lune, and the Lodge is a short sail downriver from the Park. It has been sporadically home to younger sons of the Ellery family prior to marriage, as well as hosting hunting parties and familial lying-ins. It has been hoped by Lady Locksley that the Dowager Baroness might be relocated to the Lodge, but her efforts so far have been unsuccessful and largely ignored. Locksley Lodge is depicted by an unnamed cottage in Firbank.

29 Dover Street

  • 29 Dover Street is located in the Mayfair neighborhood of London, and was purchased by Philip Ellery, Lord Locksley, shortly after his marriage. It was the sole residence of the couple until the death of Mathias Ellery, 4th Baron Locksley, after which Philip inherited his father's title and the country house. It remains Lady Locksley's preferred residence. The Dowager Baroness dislikes her accommodations within the house, and as a result spends approximately half of the Season at this residence, and the rest in Bath. 29 Dover Street is depicted by an unnamed house in Cotswolds.
