Andrew Gosling

Andrew Augustus Gosling (1745-1801) was the 4th Duke of Leighton. He is the only son of His Grace, Augustus Gosling, 3rd Duke of Leighton and Her Grace, Helen Gosling, Duchess of Leighton and brother to Elinor and Augusta Gosling.

In 1770 he married Elise Dubois but the duchess died of a weak heart before she could produce an heir. In 1780 he married Sophia Layton and sired two sons, Nicholas, the current duke, and William. By all accounts, it was not a happy marriage but the members were very adept at keeping out of one another's path.
