Archibald Treville-Layton

Archibald Treville-Layton, Marquess of Crantock is a crotchety old recluse of indefinite age who never married and lives alone with a handful of equally aged and crotchety servants in Crantock Abbey on the Cornish coast. His heir is his second cousin twice removed, Henry Layton, Lord Parry. Henry secretly likes him and makes sure he spends at least a couple of weeks at Crantock every summer. The sea air, gorgeous views and deserted beaches are also something of a draw.
