Background
Marie Ann's mother and father met at a London party when her mother was 18 and her father fell in love instantly...but the sentiment, while noticed by mother, was never quite returned. Nevertheless; due to her grandfather arranging the marriage on her fathers behalf, her parents were married a year later when her mother was 19. Her parents marriage was a normal one for the six years they were married. Her mother produced an heir and a couple of years later was pregnant with the little girl her father had always wanted. Nine months later when her mother had complications in birth she died and left the two young children to her father. Her father never re-married and to this day he loves her mother with an undying passion.
Marie Ann Edwards grew up at her fathers sleepy country estate and was raised since birth by her very loving father and elder brother William. Nothing too exciting happened to Marie until last year when her ailing father finally declared that it was "high time" that she was married. So with that being said her father, her brother and her somewhat reluctant cat, all journeyed to London for the season.
However, after more than half the season in London and with two rejected suitors, it is clear that Marie Ann has absolutely no intention of marrying...ever, and she has been heard around the ton remarking that she does not wish to give up her independence and in gaining a husband she would be doing so which "she absolutely cannot allow!"
