Background
Archibald’s mother and father met at a London party when his mother was 18 and his father fell in love instantly...but the sentiment, while noticed by his mother, was never quite returned. Nevertheless; due to his grandfather arranging the marriage on her fathers behalf, his parents were married a year later when his mother was 19. Six years later her mother had given birth to him and his sister and had died shortly afterwards. His father never re-married and to this day his father loves his mother with an undying passion.
Archibald grew up at his fathers sleepy country estate with his beloved little sister Marie Ann and his father. From an early age Archibald (or "Archie" as he likes to be referred to) has had his future responsibilities pounded into his head by his somewhat aggravating but loving father. Archie's father made sure that he was raised to be a proper gentleman. He was taught French, German, Greek, Italian and many other languages. He was taught how to properly ride horses and was taught to fence and how to box properly. His farther also taught him the skill's of drinking port and wooing the ladies.
Archie's studies further continued at the age of 15 when he was sent to Eton and furthered even more when he was sent to Oxford. His schooling however was briefly interrupted when his father became ill and requested that his son come home and prepare to accept the responsibilities of a duke.
Things went on as normal for Archie as he finished school and came home to help his ailing father with the running of their two estates. His father is now getting worse however and Archibald is determined to see that his fathers wish of seeing his daughter wed to a respectable man is accomplished.
Now Archie has arrived in London with his sister hoping to get her married and to get himself married and get married fast since he knows that his beloved father's days on the earth are numbered.
