Alderhan House

Alderhan House is the London home of the Montgomery Family, located at 57 Berkeley Square. It is traditionally the responsibility of the Earl of Alderhan.

Household Staff

• Thomas Merrick is the butler at Alderhan House and first footman at Eastborough Park. He is one of the few members of staff who had not previously had a family member serving the Montgomery Family and has in fact served in a number of stately homes - as he likes to remind everyone on a regular basis.
• Mary Baker is the housekeeper at Alderhan House and has been there for as long as anyone can remember. She's not delighted by the influx of new staff, but similarly cannot argue it hasn't injected some life into the house.
• James Herne is the earl's valet. Previously having worked in a tailor's in London, Lord Alderhan noticed his eye for style and promptly whisked him away to his employ. James has a reputation both for being a shameless gossip, and for breaking the hearts of half the housemaids in London. He is rather proud of both of these things.
• Winifred Parker is Lady Eastborough's lady's maid and trusted confidante. Not much gets past her, in this household, and the things that she knows would make your hair curl.
• Maria Shelton is Lady Dryden's lady's maid. A beautiful and charismatic young lady, very protective of her mistress and her young charge.
• Billy Smith is first footman at Alderhan House and a footman at Eastborough Park. Three generations of his family have served at Eastborough Park, and he is very proud to continue the tradition. A very kind hearted and dutiful young man.
• Louis Malloy is a footman at Alderhan House and Eastborough Park and is Mirabel's favourite, as he can darn stockings ten times as well as even the most delicate of lady's maids. Being the youngest of the household staff, barring the hall boy and the kitchen girl, he is somewhat given to immaturity, much to the eternal frustration of Mr. Merrick. His father is the butler at Eastborough Park.
• Gwen Chaplin is head housemaid at Alderhan House and a housemaid at Eastborough Park. Her pragmatic, no-nonsense countenance made her a favourite of the housekeeper, who insisted she be taken to London. Gwen has served the Montgomery family all her life, but her ambitions lie far higher.
• Linnhe Vale is a housemaid at Alderhan House. Scottish by birth, she has come to London in search of advancement. She thinks the vicomte rather charming.
