Miss Pirbright's Select Seminary for Young Ladies is, as the name says, a ladies' seminary. It is located at Claverton, to the east (the London side) of Bath, about three miles from Bath itself.

It was closed temporarily in 1811 due to a diphtheria outbreak, and those girls who were currently at the school were sent home.
