The Honourable Christopher Darling, known as Kit, is the second child, by a few minutes, of Dorothea and Xavier Darling, the Viscount and Viscountess Flemming. His twin is Henrietta, and they have a younger sister Diana who is a year younger. Kit was born in 1800, and has expressed an interest in joining the Navy like his uncle Nathaniel Scarborough, a wish his mother hopes will be temporary.
Kit is the heir to the Viscountcy of Flemming, and the next in line after his uncle to the Barony of Bathurst (supposing that his uncle does not marry and have sons). He has recently started school, going to Rugby as his father and uncle did.
