Lieutenant Frederick Longstaffe is the only son and heir of Adam Longstaffe of Stavelow Manor in Cheshire. He had little interest in academic work and joined the navy when he was 13 instead of going to public school. He used the £1000 legacy from his aunt, Lady Crumpshaw to buy his uniform and books and was made Lieutenant in 1810.
Frederick is a NPC belonging to Rose.
