Mrs. Leadenhall was born Miss Lucia Fotherington in 1785, only daughter of Henry and Lady Sophia Fotherington. She is the younger sister of Mark Fotherington and Hugo Fotherington.
At one point, a marriage between her and her friend and neighbour Lord Selwyn was proposed but as neither were happy with it, it was never pressed.
