The Barony of Thornley is a hereditary title in the peerage of England. The current Baron is James Reynell, a distant cousin of the previous title holder, Robert, whose widow is Demelza Quartermaine. His wife is the elder sister of James Vickery, the current Viscount Saltash. There is also a distant connection to the Marquessate of Coniston, as the Baroness' half-sister Laura Asquith is a cousin of Lord Wolvercote and a second cousin of Lord Coniston via her marriage into the Asquith family.
Since the death of Robert, the country seat is Tingrith Court in Bedfordshire, the home of James Reynell and his wife Anne. The heir is James' eldest son Christopher.
