Barony of Wolvercote (2)
An hereditary title in the Peerage of Great Britain held by the Asquith family. The current Baron is Cyril Asquith, 3rd Baron Wolvercote. The late half-sister of the current Duke of Pennington married Lord Wolvercote's second son in spring 1798. The holders of the Barony are distantly related to the Marquesses of Coniston, with the current Baron being a second cousin to Kenward Asquith, the present Marquess. The Baron's sister-in-law is the elder half-sister of James Vickery, the current Viscount Saltash. The seat is Wolvercote Hall, in Oxfordshire.
Coat of Arms
Quarterly sable and or, first and fourth a wolf's head erased argent, langued gules, second and third a tower gules, masoned sable. Shield divided into four; the top left and bottom right quarters are black with a white wolf's head with a red tongue, the top right and bottom left quarters are gold (shown as yellow) with a red tower with black outline to the blocks. Motto: Integritas semper tutamen: Integrity is always a safeguard.
