The Marquess of Pendleston shall be disguised as a Faerie King
- He shall be dressed in King's garments: white stockings, golden breeches, tunic and vest. Around his shoulders he wears a rather royal looking cloak, trimmed in mink. ( quite like the one on the left, only much older and portlier.) [1]. He will also be wearing a crown [2], a mask [3], and have a marble sceptor that will also double as his walking cane.'


Patrick Grove shall be disguised as a Man of Mystery
- He will be dressed in what would be normal formal attire for a ball, only everything completely black and a simple white mask. [4]


Penelope Grove will be disguised as the Night
- Dressed in a gown of midnight blue; shapes her waist, full in the skirt that falls at her natural hips. Silver ribbon is woven through the neckline, drop waist, and edge of sleeves. In her hair that is left long and curled down her back are small diamond stars. [5]. She wears sheer midnight blue gloves, embroidered with silver beads that match the intricate embroidery at the hem of her wide skirt. Around her neck is a diamond necklace and at her ears diamond earrings. Her mask is of the moon [6]


Annabelle Beacham will be disguised as The Army Wearing an empire-waist gown with a white bodice and black skirt; the skirt is decorated with military style bretelles of white silk and gold braid, and the hem is decorated with the same. Over the gown she wears a fitted jacket that echoes military styles of the past century, faced in gold and festooned with braid, though cut to fit a young lady's figure. Her hair is curled and pinned back in a loose chignon, atop which rests a black tricorn hat bedecked with a white plume. She wears black bootees on her feet, and white clocked stockings. On her face she wears a white half-mask.


Elizabeth Dunford will be disguised as The Navy
A navy blue silk gown with an empire waist, with white gauze rising from the hem to mimic ocean foam [7]. Seed pearls are scattered throughout the white gauze. Sewn where the end of the white gauze meets the navy blue silk are several small, two dimensional, intricately painted painted ships, one of which is the HMS Adratta, her brother's ship. The gown's waistline is accented by an intricately woven white rope, reminiscent of sailor's knots [8]. At her throat is a sapphire and pearl encrusted gold anchor, hanging from multiple strings of pearls. From her ears hang matching earrings [9]. Her mask is pure white [10] (though with no feathers), with a delicately cut ship at the peak of the mask, just over her forehead. Her hair is curled and pinned up with seashell encrusted pins [11].


Imogen Rathbone will be disguised as Britannia
A white Grecian style dress with a golden coloured belt and wide, lightweight blue shawl. Carrying a paper fan decorated to look like a spray of leaves and a small golden triton. Her mask is painted in colours to symbolise the Union flag (blue with a pattern of narrow red and white lines).


Jemima Palmer will be disguised as Fire
A red overdress, with short cap sleeves trimmed with black lace, worn atop an orange gown . She wears two gold bandeaux in her pinned-up hair [12] (the picture furthest to the right) and a mask to match. She wears a necklace and earrings of red garnet. Her gloves are in the same color gold as the bandeaux.


Helena Wriothesley shall be disguised as a Macaron
She will be dressed in a cerise pink gown, white gloves and a large round pink hat [13] decorated with strings of pearls. Her mask will be a white half face venetian [14] and she will be wearing pearls. She will carry a small basket of pink macarons she's baked herself.


Jane Middleton will be disguised as a Huntswoman
She will be dressed in a dark red gown similar to a riding habit [15], with an addition of a black riding hat [16] and simple black mask. She'll be wearing rubies and carrying a crop.


Thomas Sterne will be disguised as a Clergyman
He will be wearing an 18th century clergyman's costume and wig [17], and a black Venetian nose mask [18].


Gwendolyn Moncrieff will be disguised as Bottom/Donkeyskin
She will be wearing a grey gown, trimmed with dark grey fur around its short sleeves and the hem. Her mask will be a donkey's head [19] (something like this, but without the horn, with longer upright ears and black in colour) decorated with flowers, from the back of which a long trail of black Spanish lace extends till just above the edge of her dress. She will wear an emerald pendant fastened loosely round her neck with a black velvet ribbon and white gloves. And she'll be carrying a cane with a donkey's head on top.


Charlotte Tolson will be disguised as a Forest Faerie
Dressed in an emerald green[20] gown [21] [22] with a sheer green overlay[23] and a sheer pair of silver fairy wings attached to the back of the dress. Her dress is decorated with a variety of flower pins [24] [25][26][27] [28], and her hair is twisted up into an elaborate style, with a small lily [29] tucked in amongst her hair. She wears a crystal crown[30] atop of her head, and a green and gold mask.[31]


Juliet Landon will be disguised as the Greek muse Clio
Dressed in an ivory silk[32] Grecian style dress[33], trimmed with gold trim[34]. She carries with her a scroll [35], and wears a golden cuff bracelet.[36]. Her hair has been curled and pinned up, and wears a gold headpiece[37]. Her mask is made of fine gold and crystal.[38]

Rosalind Fairmont will be disguised as The Queen of Diamonds, from a pack of playing cards.
Dressed in a bold and intricately geometrically patterned dress of yellow, red, black and white with a an unusually full skirt (suitably queenly) and sleeves that are puffed to the elbow and tight black velvet along her forearms. A gold, diamond studded diadem binds her hair and heavy necklace of gold and diamonds sits below her throat. On three finger are gold rings bearing diamond shaped red enamels. She carries a red sceptre topped with a fist-sized (paste) diamonds and her mask is also red and angular.


Marcus Fairmont will be disguised as a Hooded Shepherd


William Gosling will represent the Nemean Lion
in a golden mask, complete with ears, and some rather sinister gold rings [39] on the fingers of his left hand that extend the length of each finger and end in a vicious claw.


Nicholas Gosling will be disguised as Sir Gawain, Knight of the Round Table
(Inspired by a recent re-reading by His Grace of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight [40])


Susannah Hutchinson will be disguised as a Beefeater from the Tower of London.
-She will wear black shoes with red, white, and blue cockades. Her stockings will be red, and will be visible beneath the skirt of her red gown which--rather daringly--will fall only to her lower calf. The skirt will be trimmed in gold and black braid in the usual manner of a Yeoman Warder's formal dress. Though empire-waisted, her gown will still sport the letter "G" and the Roman numeral "III" on either side of the bodice, separated by a crown. All this will likewise be in gold and black braid. The dress's sleeves will end at the elbow, and a white ruff will adorn the neckline. On her head, Sukey will wear a puffy black cap with red, white, and blue pom poms around the brim. Her half mask will be red and gold.


As Sukey has convinced him to put forth some effort, Benjamin Hutchinson will be disguised as Father Time.
-Wearing gray robes and sandals, he will hold an hourglass and a tall walking stick (rather than a scythe, which he deemed too dangerous to carry in a crowded room). His mask will suggest the features of a withered old man, and Ben will powder his hair and wear faux whiskers to complete the image.


Daniel Rossington will be disguised as a Roman Soldier.
-Dressed as a Roman Soldier[41], Neil will carry a papier mache sword and shield, but will forgo the traditional Roman helmet for a red and brown/gold full face mask.


Edward Tolson will be disguised as an Egyptian Pharaoh.
-Inspired by the campaign in Egypt, Edward will be dressed in a floor length, white linen shift. A gold coloured belt, studded with (paste) lapis lazuil gems will decorate the shift, with a matching collar. He will also wear golden cuffs, and a Nemes headdress, paired with a plain gold mask.


Henry Layton will be disguised as a monk.


Viola Fitzgerald will be disguised as a Medieval Princess.


Olivia Fitzgerald will be disguised as a Spanish orange seller.

George Hackett will be disguised as a Roman senator.

Theresa Fairfax will be disguised as a Swallow
- Dressed in a gown of pearlescent blue silk pleated from the neckline with the pleats dropping off into the folds of the garment, with a rouched band over one shoulder and another around her waist. Her hair is swept up into a simple but elegant style and has real swallows' feathers tucked throughout, to catch the light. She wears a simple mask coloured to match her dress [42] and no jewelery at all.


Stephen Brydges will be disguised as a Wolf
Wearing a simple shirt, boots and breeches entirely in black, worn beneath a full cape and hood in silver-grey shaggy fur, which hangs to his knees. The hood meets with a black masque in the shape of a wolf's head, with silver markings about the eyes and sharp white teeth set along the edge of its "mouth".


Victor Kincaide will be wearing a black domino and sober evening dress.


Rebecca Garrison will be disguised as Shakespeare's Lavinia
She wears a plain Grecian-style white dress, with a red silk scarf [43] adorning. Her hair is half-loose at the back, though pulled away from her face. Though she wears long white evening gloves, she has torn strips of plain muslin and crimson ribbons bound about her arms and wrists to represent blood and injury. She is veiled in white, rather than masked, and plans to say as little as possible, in keeping with her character.
