John Asquith is the younger son of the second Lord Wolvercote and is the second cousin (once removed) of the current Marquess of Coniston. He has been married to the elder half-sister of Lord Saltash since 1768, and they have five surviving children (four sons and a daughter) and several grandchildren.
He is a barrister and King's Counsel and he and his wife currently make their home at Priors Marston Manor, his estate in Warwickshire.
