Lucian Fitzroy is the current Baron of Silchester.
He is the dearest friend of the Marquess of Eastborough and a very poor dancer. He is a passionate advocate for the advancement of the education of the Deaf.

History
Lucian was born the eldest of nine children, in a very loud manor house in Hampshire. He was educated at Harrow, and went on to study at Exeter College, Oxford, where he would meet the then Earl of Alderhan, Rawdon Montgomery III. The pair shared a love of riding and music, and quickly became fast friends.
In 1782, he was introduced to Margaret Burnett and Sophie Walsom at Almack's. He was immediately taken with Miss Burnett, a Deaf young lady who was full of grace and good cheer. He quickly realised that, although she could lip-read extremely well, with her family she communicated using a series of gestures that were quite incomprehensible to him. Through further investigation, and the help of a rather obliging deaf gentleman of a Montgomery cousin's acquaintance, he established that it was a system designed by a Scotsman who had made the education of the Deaf his business - thus Lucian made the learning of this system his own. During the time he was learning, he implored Alderhan to establish via Miss Walsom whether or not Miss Burnett held any regard for him, as Alderhan was attempting to court Miss Walsom - with varying degrees of success. Nearly four months after their first introduction at Almack's, the baron was able to greet Miss Burnett in a way that truly demonstrated the affections he felt towards her. Four weeks after that, they were engaged.
