Adelaide Harpole was born in 1752 as Adelaide Dunford. She was only daughter of Henry, Duke of Claitonborough, and his wife, Alice. She was the younger sister of Geoffrey Dunford (father of Anthony and Elizabeth Dunford) and mother to Edmund, Susan, Caroline, and Francis Harpole through her marriage to James Harpole. She was his second wife. She died in 1790.
