Part of the Great Houses of the London Life series.

The Asquith family are the holders of the Marquessate of Coniston, with the secondary title of Viscountcy of Milbury. The Marquessate was created in 1664 by King Charles II. The Barony of Wolvercote is held by a cadet branch of the family, the current Baron being a second cousin once removed to Kenward Asquith the current Marquess of Coniston. The family is also linked to the Vickery family, holders of the Viscountcy of Saltash, as the current Baron's younger brother is married to the half-sister of Lord Saltash.
