Childhood (1743-1760)

The eldest of seven children, Augusta was always relied upon to set a good example for her elder siblings, though she rarely did. She enjoyed spending more time getting her younger siblings into trouble than helping them with anything, and as she grew older, flirted ceaselessly with almost any gentleman who caught her eye. Tutors were hired to educate Augusta and her three sisters in everything from painting to dancing, though it was eventually decided that Augusta should be taught in a seminary until she became less rebellious. Augusta was sent away at the age of fifteen, and returned home on her eighteenth birthday. Tamed somewhat by her three years away, Augusta still harboured a rebellious streak which would become evident following her debut in society.

Debut (1760)

Augusta debuted in 1760, and was presented to His Majesty George III. Following her formal induction into society, she began causing scandal wherever she could, much to her mother's dismay. Gossiping, spreading rumours and flirting with other lady's fiancees were some of her favourite past times, and the attention she garnered for herself attracted a fair few gentlemen, none of whom were marriage prospects for a lady such as Augusta. It was not until her third season that she earned the attention of Nicholas Landon, who took it upon himself to marry the Ton's most infamous firecracker.

Marriage (1763-1784)

Despite her fiery disposition and slightly tarnished reputation, Nicholas was attracted to the eldest Marckwick daughter, and as the two settled into their married life, Nicholas may have found himself regretting his decision to marry Augusta. While the two maintained a cordial relationship for the majority of their marriage (though there were a fair number of heated disagreements between the two throughout the years), it became quite clear that neither Nicholas nor Augusta were happy in their marriage. Only two of their five children survived infancy; Augusta and Nicholas buried twin girls (named Ophelia and Alexandra) as well as a son (named Arthur) before 1770. It was at this point that Nicholas and Augusta drifted apart, her husband taking mistresses, and Augusta returning to her old habits as well. Though they both lived in the same house, they rarely spoke, and Augusta split her time between her children and making her presence known in society.

Widowhood (1784-present)

1784 marked the year that Augusta attained her freedom. In the years leading up to Nicholas' death, the two had tried to amend some of the rifts between them, though there was still little affection between them. A heart attack claimed Nicholas in December of 1784, elevating Edmond to Marquess, while Augusta set about trying to find a suitable wife for her son. Since her widowhood, she has felt more free than she has in her life, and especially as she grows older, she finds that she can resume to her old tricks without care.

Present Day (1811-)

Augusta currently resides at Beningborough House in Yorkshire with Edmond, Marion and their children. She will be traveling to London to attend the Tolson Dinner Party, and will most certainly be causing more problems in society.
