Beningborough Hall
Beningborough Hall, located in Yorkshire, is the ancestral home of the Marquessate of Beningborough. It first came into use in 1704, when the title of Marquess was bestowed upon Matthew Landon following his military success in the Battle of Blenheim in Bavaria. As the first Marquess of Beningborough, Matthew Landon was unable to achieve much, as he died in 1705, leaving the title to his son, Christopher Landon. Living until the age of 63, Christopher Landon died in 1755, leaving the estate to his son, Nicholas Landon, who married Augusta Landon in 1763. Together, they produced two living children: Edmond Landon (the current Marquess), and Celia Powell.
Nicholas Landon died in 1784, leaving Edmond Landon to become the 4th Marquess of Beningborough. Beningborough Hall is currently used as the summer home of Edmond Landon and Marion Landon, along with four of their five children: Elizabeth Landon, Juliet Landon, Frederick Landon and Amelia "Amy" Landon. The Dowager Marchioness, Augusta Landon, also resides there.
In addition to Beningborough Hall, the Landons own three other properties: Seyton Court (which is connected to the Earldom of Seyton), Morledge Park and Beningborough House (their London residence).
